• Bluetooth-Based Distance Estimation: The app uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to estimate the distance between you and other users. This information is also tied to a specific Ping event and not stored in relation to the user. No Bluetooth device identifiers are collected or stored.

• Identifiers: You may provide identifiers such as IG handle, phone number, Snap username, etc. These identifiers are encrypted and used solely to match signals from other users to you. They are never displayed publicly or shared with other users.

• Notification Preferences: We store whether you have chosen to be discoverable or not to enable or disable notifications about potential matches.

3. How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is used solely for the following purposes:

• To facilitate the app's core functionality: We use Bluetooth to estimate distances between users and location data to provide contextual recall of Pings, but all information is associated with specific Ping events, not the user.

• To improve our service: We may use anonymous data (such as general usage trends) to understand how users interact with Ping and make improvements.

• To notify you of matches: If you Ping someone and they Ping you back, we will notify both parties of the match—without revealing identities.

4. How We Protect Your Privacy

At Ping, we prioritize anonymity and privacy. Here's how we ensure that:

• Identifiers are encrypted and used exclusively for internal matching logic. They are never displayed to other users.

• You have full control over your discoverability and notification preferences.

• No Identity Disclosure: Even when there is a match, we do not disclose real names.

• Private Notes: You can save private notes within the app to help you remember which anonymous user corresponds to whom, but these notes are not visible to anyone else.

5. Content Moderation and User Safety

Ping is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all users. To ensure this:

• Age Rating: This app is rated 17+ due to the potential for anonymous interactions. Users under 17 are not permitted to use the app.

• Objectionable Content: We have a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content or abusive behavior. Users are required to agree to our Terms of Service, which prohibit such content.

• No Guarantees of Reciprocity: If someone does not Ping you back, we encourage you to move on. Ping helps you get clarity but does not guarantee any specific outcome.

• No Guarantees of Physical Proximity: The app is designed to work best within 100 feet but cannot guarantee accuracy for users farther away.

• Rejection is Possible: If someone does not respond to your Ping, their actions and feelings are beyond our control. Our goal is to provide clarity, not influence outcomes.
